Hello World! Processing Response

Hello World! Processing opened my eyes to a new way of examining organic behavior and its relation to code. In the beginning of the film, the connection was made between organic acts of nature and the processes that create them. One example was the people weaving in and out of each other on a street. Although not running into people seems like a simple idea, we all know to follow this principle subconsciously; it is the way our brain processes the visual cue of a crowd. This reminded me of the experiments we looked at where coded objects would change direction when making contact with one another. Processing allows the functions of a computer to mimic natural phenomena. Another part of the film that was interesting to me was when they explained the Feltron Annual Reports where the author tracks every detail of his life for the year. When they explained how the tracking or visualization of this data could be completed through processing in a fraction of the time, I began to better understand the benefits. In all, this film was very interesting and changed the way I view the behaviors of nature as well as the benefits of processing.
